How to germinate:
After filling in a flower pot with a wet mixture of 1 part peat moss or seed starting mix and a sand part, drain by pouring the seeds into a strainer held above a kitchen sink. While they are still wet, plant them in the pot to a depth equal to twice their length. Cover the pot with plastic wrap so that the wet mixture, and place it on a sunny window or under a light magnification, where temperatures remain between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Care of your Pomelo:
The seeds should germinate within two to eight weeks if the mixture is not allowed to dry out. About three weeks after they pushed, transplant them into individual 4-inch pots filled with a cactus, palms and citrus mix of potting. If you want only a scattering of self-pollination pomelo, save the healthiest one and discard or give others. Once your seedlings showing signs of new growth after being transplanted, you can begin to fertilize every two weeks with a diluted plant food for acid-loving plants - such as 30-10-10 - 1/4 teaspoon mixing the crystals with 1 gallon of water. Continue to grow the plant on a sunny windowsill or under the center of a slight increase, moving to larger pots as needed. If you intend to transplant into the ground, wait until it is 1 to 2 feet in height before doing so.
